Guiltiness and Stupidity

GUILTINESS
Today I felt guilty during my BM class. Our class is supposed to end at 10.40am but some told our teacher 10.20am. So, she went speeding; at the same time, the prefects were getting out of the class resulting into a more spacey room, and finally she has receded into her normal tempo when most of us (the normal students) didn't stand up and leave the class for recess.

I wanted to correct my teacher that it was 10.40am but my friends said: Never mind. Let her be.

I felt that I am very stupid for doing such a thing. Maybe, honesty isn't the best policy after all. That's my weakness. I am forever being honest and I can't lie. That's why my friends are hurt sometimes when I give my opinions.

I am not trying to say I have such terrible friends. They are great but all of us have our unique mindsets. Please don't get me wrong here.

However, my teacher has stopped projecting her voice since 10.20am; asked Kamini was it time already for her to leave. She said to teacher there were 20 more minutes. Our teacher also started answering questions from students personally, which I very much prefer the lessons to be that way.
STUPIDITY
As for this, I really am sad about my result for first monthly test that I have just received yesterday:
Total marks: 718
Percentage: 79.78
Result: PASS
Position in class: 9/49 (so what?)
Position in cohort: 31/463

SIGH!!! I don't mean to whine or anything but it is so eye-digging to see my result this bad for the first test. All are fine but look! Additional Mathematics' the only D over there. What a pity. The rest are fine. Until now, I can't believe how great the impact of a Donkey in my result. Seriously. However, I will not give up because I know I can never die that easily.

History Teacher

"Ooi, come here. I want to talk to you. Ooi, why nowadays you are very quiet? You have toned down a lot. Are you OK?"

Sigh of relieve

Yes, I am very happy that the debate competition is finally over! Basically, I have learnt on a lot of things through that competition. I have gained confidence to speak in public areas now.

Day one:
We reached HELP University College at 7.00am and registered.
For round one, we were not really good on it as we didn't link on what everyone was trying to say.
For round two, only then we realize that Ara's gang was true about the government should open a case and set the parameter as well as setting a policy which is not about status quo. We finished day one of debate at 3.30pm.

Then, later the afternoon, when we checked in to Peninsula Malaysia Hotel (this is more like expenses paid trip actually). All of us realized that we have not eaten anything since morning due to stress, we decided to dine in Roselle, the hotel's restaurant (Mrs. Surekah paid for us this time). The design of the restaurant and even the hotel itself are just explicitly awesome. I couldn't say anything more than "they provide very good service".

When we were done with our dinner, we got into our room and started writing our scripts. Then, at night when we needed to do research, we went to Mrs. Surekah's relative's house. I tell you, the house was really beautiful with all those decorations of tiki cultures, arrows that were replicas of the Red Indians', Buddha carvings and so much more. It is really..... beautiful!

After we were done with the research, we stopped at McD to order food to eat. I ordered the piggiest one: double spicy chicken McDeluxe. It was just nice. Just imagine the tastiness of one piece of that burger, but I was having two!

Day 2
For third round, (thanks to the comments in round two) we have won the case by proposing a policy which is not regarding status quo. We managed to win this because we finally put our thoughts right.

For the fourth round. I screwed it all up - completely! We only knew that we were opposition one hour before the motion started. And I basically do not have any script at all. I was just talking nonsense:
1. I couldn't package my delegation's points up in time because they were all talking and everything...
2. I was rebutting on a very airy way. I was just sort of touch and go? Seriously, I was the worse there.
3. Charumathy had to leave the team because she has to go for another competition right after the third motion ended.

After I came out during the jurisdiction where we were all required to come out of the room, I was really sad and disappointed with my stupidity there. Then we saw a delegation who had the same problem with us (our rooms were next to each other, so when we meet up we just started talking on that issue). They landed on the same situation as us. They were so well-versed with their opposition scripts till then, they knew they were government for that motion.

But I can tell, we all really had fun and most importantly, experience.

As I came back to Seremban with teacher, Tushaani and Vasanthra via train (expenses paid by teacher) We were debating like mad raccoons in the train. We had so many motions in the bus that almost everyone near us in the coach was listening (not eavesdropping) us. I wonder what will they think of us... Freaks?

This went on from beginning till the end of the journey. Teacher was too tired to participate in but she was listening to it.

Now, I can relax (as I have come to an agreement where all of us in the delegation, including the teacher had decided not to come to school and rest at home. It was a unanimously agreed) and arrange my thoughts and prepare myself for another competition next month. A very important competition: Mid-term examination. I hope I can do it.

For Tushaani, Vasanthra and Charumathy, thank you so very much. Of course not forgetting Mrs. Shamala and Mrs. Surekah who'd been there to summarize the points for my rebuttals. Thank all of you for the encouraging support!

Sigh

This week, there were just too many bad things happen. Yesterday, our choral speaking team got 4th again. It was clearly a bias issue where of any point, we were still better than the second runner up (as quoted by Mr. Xavier, the technical director of English competition). We were making so much noise once we get back to school, as though we've won the competition. Today, Mrs. Gurdip had questioned me on our reckless behavior as she needed to talk to the principal who was really unhappy with it - at all! (Oops)

After the talk, she told me that he (my principal) understood. Lucky escape!

***

Yesterday, I found out that Aruna's grandmother passed away the day before. Today, I got the news saying that Adeline's grandfather passed away too. With all these, Francine backed off from our debate team and lucky enough, we manage to find two substitutes for the two of them (Francine and Adeline).

I just hope that all of them would be fine... May God shower His ultimate blessings on the departed souls. God do love them than any of us do.

National Level Debate Competition by HELP-UC

So here we are ladies and gentlemen, the national level debate competition. My school will first go against SMK Perempuan Methodist, Pulau Pinang. I am not sure how good or bad they are but from what I've heard, they're awesome. Never mind that...

I am the third speaker of my team. First round, we are government. We will have 4 preliminary rounds to enter. Which means, we will stay there for one night for 24th and 25th April. One day, 2 motions.

Yes, it is rather different from what I am exposed to over here. For this, they have 4 different motions straight away for all four rounds. That means, our motions will not be repeated or recycled.

Meh, I just hope we can win at least one of the four preliminary rounds... If we lose all four, I don't think we will be top 16 to compete in the octofinals. Nah, never mind that. I am going for experience, not for anything else. It should be fine, I think...

CPU

I am gonna have my CPU back tomorrow. Finally, after all these while. Anyway... Next Saturday, four of us: Francine, Charu, Adeline and I are going for national level debate competition in HELP University College.

This is a whole lot of a turning point for me. We'll only be given 30 minutes to find any points to debate about the motion. Meaning to say, we'll be informed about the motion half an hour before the heat begins. Seems nice, eh?

OK, enough about it. Today, a few things had happened in class.
1. We did our SEGAK and I found that my stamina is very weak. The only thing I am rather good at is pulse. I have one of the strongest hearts among my friends there, with one of the lowest number of heartbeats per minute, after exercise (100bpm)

2. We have our results already. Mine is a little bad, but uber alles (excuse me, a little of German here), I am proud of what I had. Tenth in class (meh, that's nothing!) and.... sadly, 34th in the whole form. Humans are prone to make mistakes at times.

3. We had 4 free periods today because our teachers were absent. Lucky me, I could do my Biology notes and Additional Mathematics form 4 practices. I need to climb up again and leaving everything aside (oops, I hope that I can do that part).

Hmm... I think that's all for now.

PS: Biology now is getting more and more stressful. There are now more than like... 20 hormone names to be remembered et cetera? I don't know. I just hope I can do well in Mid term, which is... a month away from now? I'm freaked about it, alright!

BOOM

Hey guys, after about a month without blog, finally you see me here again. Sorry for the long wait, people. That's because my CPU was crashed last month. Now, I'm using a loan unit from Acer.

Well... As for today's debates competition (yeah, we entered that competition. Malay debates), we lost in the second round, against the princesses. Even though we lost, I am not sad at all. I'm just feeling a little tired after debating the motion, especially with a lot of shouts in my speeches (prime speech and reply speech).

Zhe Ying, Aliaa, don't worry. It is not your fault we lost. You know who is the culprit right? Haha, Aliaa, now I wish Teacher See was there to talk to the juries about this issue!!! It should be a great drama, right?

I think, what I have to say, I have said it all. That's all. Bye, people.
